Clayton Corporate Yoga Impacts Natalie Warren’s Life

Please enjoy this short interview with our long-time corporate yoga student, Natalie Warren!

What made you want to consider taking yoga?

I have some underlying health issues that are all weight related. I’ve ignore them over the years and finally decided to do something about it 2 years ago after seeing a nutritionist. I began to eat better and walk for exercise but I soon got bored with that.

I expressed my concern to the nutritionist and she suggested that I try some non-traditional exercise programs. I did some research and signed up for a water aerobics class. I loved the class, did it for about a year but it was not practical for my busy schedule. St. Louis County along with Clayton Corporate Yoga began offering the Yoga classes but I didn’t bite initially. I’ve always wanted to try it but I wasn’t sold just yet.

I started to read the benefits of yoga and then said, what they hey and the rest is history.

What do you like about Clayton Corporate Yoga Classes?

The main thing that I like about the Clayton Corporate Yoga Class is the convenience. I work during the business hours here and I also have a part-time job that I work at in the evenings and on the weekends. Now add on to the day to day life things like, grocery shopping, paying bills, maintaining my household…These things make finding time to exercise a bit of a challenge. I don’t have that concern here.

I exercise during my lunch hour and I actually feel like I’ve accomplished something great for the day.

What is the change you have seen since taking yoga?

I have noticed a greater sense of calm in potentially stressful situations. I find myself taking deep breaths in through my nose till my stomach fills up and exhaling from my mouth. My joints are not stiff and achy in the mornings. I am able to focus better on time consuming projects. I have more energy throughout the day.

One of the main things that I’ve done throughout my life is give up during my workouts when things get uncomfortable. Yoga has taught me to be loving and patient with my body but to also push myself in order to get results.

Would you recommend Clayton Corporate Yoga classes and if so why?

I would definitely recommend Clayton Corporate Yoga classes because I have improved my physical and mental health. I continue to hear my Yoga Instructor, Michelle say–you cannot have a healthy mind without a healthy body. This is so very true. I’ve noticed several changes in myself over the past 7 months.

Yoga has helped me to focus on my daily tasks and produce better quality work. This will benefit me personally and professionally. Which in turn will benefit St. Louis County both professionally and financially in the long run.
