Hall of Fame presents Jackie McFadden

Jackie McFadden, (featured right) a July, 2013 graduate of Clayton Yoga’s teacher training and 200 hour RYT with Yoga Alliance, began sharing her practice with others in August 2013. Her goal and focus during and after training was to offer a more quiet, meditative, yet nourishing yoga practice to the community. Jackie is thankful for all she learned during her training at Clayton Yoga. Her training, besides providing the essentials (anatomy, sequencing, practice routines, etc.) gave her the confidence and inspiration to transition from being a yoga student (for over 25 years) to becoming a mindful yoga instructor, providing a safe, gentle practice for all of her clients.

Her practice is a blend of yin and restorative yoga poses, breathwork, meditation, Yoga Nidra, Reiki energy work and inspirational readings.

She currently offers two restorative yoga practices each week. Since her training, Jackie has also offered several “mini-retreats” and shared this practice with local pre-school and grade school classes, as well as being invited to participate in a women’s group retreat weekend. Jackie also offers private, one-on-one sessions.

Many of her clients, after practicing a regular schedule of restorative yoga, realize they have more energy, sleep better, feel less stress and actually use many of the learned breath techniques and restorative poses outside of practice on a daily basis. As Patanjali reminds us, “Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind.”

Jackie currently practices at In Sync Mind Body Therapy Center in Carbondale, Illinois http://insyncmindbodytherapycenter.com/index.html.

Take a Look at What Clayton Yoga Teacher Training Graduates are Up to Now. Alyssa Ward is an expert in o

nsite corporate yoga classes. She enjoys greater clarity, focus and vitality in her office clientele. She enjoys and loves the most continuing to grow and learn about herself. I completed prenatal workshop certification course one year ago. The most inspiring things about my students is the variety of people with different backgrounds. Maybe there coming to yoga for depression or something completely different like learning sacred movement. Reaching a diverse audience in the same class offering wonderful benefits that is exciting to me.

As for self-care, I usually just love relaxing, like going for walk, listening to music, doing very little. To me this is the best way to sometimes spend the day, rest and renew. In the near future, more corporate classes and workshop opportunities. I learned so much from the others in the teacher training group.

Alyssa Ward teaches corporate daily for Clayton Yoga and Fridays for Happy Hour Yoga at 4:30-5:30pm. For more information on classes at Clayton Yoga or taking a yoga private with Alyssa Ward, www.claytonyoga.com, or contact 314-630-1677. Namaste!

Meet Frances Cobern. Open to adventure and having the hero heart, Frances is our third Hall of Fame Clayton Yoga Teacher. Effervescent and beaming out with her constant broad smile, Frances Coburn’s energy and joy is infectious!

The quality Frances enjoys the most about teaching is offering students great instruction on individual adjustments and anatomy. During the Clayton Yoga Teacher Training, Frances Coburn learned a basic understanding of what different parts of the body are really involved, maximizing flow energy, as well as how to offer better alignment and adjustments.

Frances Coburn loved the Clayton Yoga website, the follow up welcome packet, and phone consultation call. She was really impressed with the small size of the training and the inclusive feel Clayton Yoga gave her.  With only 8 students accepted per training, Frances, knew right away that Clayton Yoga Teacher Training offered relevant, dynamic small group training which would provide instruction on anatomy and adjustments in the most simple and direct way.

Future plans with yogi friends include more yoga workshops and retreats. She draws additional strength and playful downtime from her husband and grandchildren. To enjoy a more balanced Frances Coburn recommends keeping a fresh perspective always!
