We are More than Our Physical Bodies: We Are Change

Life is a divine play filled with comedy or tragedy depending on how you see it.  When we ignite our courage and define what it is we would like, we create intention and awareness.  When we feel at the mercy or effect of other people’s opinion of likes or dislikes, we are suffering.  Truth is when we are in touch with our breath, we don’t have to try to jam our life to fit into the model of being anything but ourself.

My grandmother likes to say, everything develops in silence.  She says that grass grows in silence and trees get nourished by themselves.  Yoga postures wake up space in the body, clear out garbage in our tissues, and allow the flowing of waters to move in and around, our mind and spirit, purifying our being and illuminating the light. We can find our own peace first within.

When we find paradise within, we share without attachment.  We experience our life force energy: stronger, faster, and more powerful than any of our thought systems.  From here, we access the courage necessary to be ourselves.    Regardless of what is happening outside, we can find ourselves happy and able to be in harmony with life.

A Hole in My Sidewalk

I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

Chapter 1:

I fall in.

I am lost…

I am helpless.

It is not my fault.

It takes forever to find my way out.

Chapter 2:

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I pretend I don’t see it.

I fall in.

I can’t believe I am in the same place.

But it isn’t my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3:

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hold in the sidewalk.

I see it there.

I still fall in…it’s a habit.

My eyes are open.

I know where I am.

It is my fault.

I get out immediately.

Chapter 4:

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.

I walk around it.

I walk down another street.
