Inviting In Life: Erika Smiley’s Passionate Why

This blogpost written by Erika Smiley, a Clayton Yoga Teacher Training student, describes her beautiful illustration of finding the light behind the shadow.  And capturing the joy and creativity this process always brings!  If you would like to also jump and take our yoga teacher training and watch the net appear, why not give us a call at 314-630-1677.  We are happy to answer any questions that you may have!

It is time for me to take the leap and enter into Yoga Teacher Training because I am tired of being scared. I am done with being consumed with exhaustive worry. I am ready to say yes to life and all it’s beautiful disguises and life’s surprises. I may see fear arise, but I keep my path clear and know the way.

I have contemplated taking Clayton Yoga Teacher Training for many years and have come up with every excuse in the book as to why I shouldn’t. Last year, was a very reflective one. I dug deeper into my heart and into my Self than I ever have before. I cracked open parts of myself that I have been too afraid to discover as they represented a mysterious part of my being that I didn’t want to bring to light. I read books that challenge me and listen to spiritual leaders that inspired me. I prayed to God the Universe, and the Heavens above to show me; lead me; direct me; guide me. I was shown the path of yoga teacher training. I have been practicing yoga for about 15 years, though nothing I would consider “regular” or “advanced”. Initially, it was a way for me to maintain flexibility and add a different element to my workout regimen. When I give myself access to breath, and allow my body the space to move, my mind, body, and spirit are cleared with every inhale and every exhale.

My yoga practice has become my haven, my church, my sanctuary, and my salvation. This teacher training is the clear, beacon of light that breaks through the darkness. I am a recovering perfectionist and I am taking the only steps I can see, to lead me to a place of peace. It is time to call on my inner guides and those that watch from the heavens, cultivating patience, gathering strength, illuminating fears, and embracing this one, beautiful and precious life.

We offer wonderful yoga teacher training courses. with our next one beginning April 29th- May 1st, 2016, with only 7 spaces left!
