Commit To Well-Being

yes-68480_640Would you like to live a healthy, joyful life? All of us can reach this goal – we just need to commit to living such life.

What is commitment? It is the willingness to invest your time and energy in something that you believe in, a firm decision to do something.

Commitment isn’t something we often discuss. Despite the lack of attention paid to it, where we choose to commit ourselves creates the foundation and structure of our lives.

Commitment to health means that you decide to give your time and energy to activities that serve your well-being. It is a decision on how you want to live your life.

Eating fast food every day might be the easy choice for you. Cooking fresh, wholesome food is the better choice, although it means investing time and energy in grocery shopping and cooking. Your health will thank you for it.

As there are many easy choices out there, commitment is very important to keep the promises we make ourselves. Now, you might need to make this decision every day… as there are so many activities that you might find intriguing but you know that they are not in line with your commitment to health.

In the following TEDx talk Dr. Heidi Reeder, the author of the forthcoming book, “Commit To Win” and an associate professor at Boise State University, discusses what commitment is, and the power it has in our lives. After you listen to it, consider where you want to invest your time and energy, and what you want to begin to let go and move on.

We would love to help you commit to your health. Practicing yoga has so many health benefits! No matter what health issue you might face, there is a good chance that yoga can actually help you ease your issues and make life more fun.

On the basis of the experience of our yoga students both at the studio and in our many corporate yoga programs, we know that yoga will benefit you if you have low energy, feel less than motivated or suffer from different symptoms.

Here are a few of our testimonials from happy yoga students:

“My stress definitely was lower the session I took yoga. Also my physical energy was improved. I could not do last session and definitely missed it.” Susan Freise

“I had migraines up to 16 times a year before. Since starting yoga 7 months ago, I’ve had 2! I’m off my migraine maintenance medication, and only have pain meds for migraines now.” Kathy

“Yoga has improved my overall health and attitude personally and professionally. I am stronger, calmer and more focused. I recently participated in the biometric screenings and ALL of my numbers were great.” Natalie Warren

“My blood sugar is down to 5.5 from 6.2. Yoga works!!” Carla Johnson

  1. How can you not love positive testimonials? Just the lower blood sugar levels and fewer migraines should encourage people to give Yoga a try. Often this is just the beginning. With more practice the list of benefits expands greatly 🙂

  2. Living a healthy, yoga based lifestyle has so many benefits! It’s not about becoming flexible, it’s about learning flexibility within our own lives. Once you change your mind, it’s easy to change your body.

  3. Create a life I truly value…that is exactly what I needed to here today. I do the same work Ive always done because I couldn’t see something different. Yoga has created the space for me to be open and receive the appreciation for well-being in all my relationships

  4. Superb post however I was wanting to know if you could write a litte more on this topic?
I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further.
    Cheers!
