“To me, yoga is a way of life. Yoga is living in harmony with self, others, and the environment. Yoga is a means of coming back to oneself through mindful awareness, breath work, and connection with the body. Yoga is a way to calm and soothe oneself, as well as a means of challenging oneself. Yoga is a means of improving one’s mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health and wellbeing.
From the first time that I practiced yoga, I felt a deeper connection. The practice of asanas was not just about moving my body and getting in shape, it turned out to be a way for me to relax my anxious mind and soothe myself. Practicing yoga allowed me to feel more alive and connected to myself and those around me.
The most important gift I’ve received from yoga has been the ability to connect more deeply to myself, others, God, and nature. Through yoga, I am able to come back to myself. I can connect with my body, clear my mind, and begin breathing more fully and deeply. When I’m connected to myself and fully present, I can bring my best, most attuned self into my relationships with others. I also feel spiritually connected and believe my communication with God improves when I’m practicing yoga regularly. And finally, when I’m connected through yoga, I am more cognizant of nature and the impact I have on my natural surroundings.
Now I want to share my passion for yoga with others and help others to achieve the personal wellness goals they have for their own lives. As a licensed professional counselor, I have been helping others for years to achieve mental and emotional health and wellbeing. I work with clients to set goals, challenge themselves in new ways, and break through barriers that have prevented them from living their best lives.
As a yoga teacher, I want to do the same thing- help my students to live their best lives and achieve mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health and wellness. Whether it’s a deeper spiritual connection, emotional healing, or improved physical health, yoga can be a powerful tool and way of life that can help others achieve their personal wellness goals- and I want to be there to support them in that effort.”

Amanda is an asset to the yoga community. Her abilities to take on challenging issues and help resolve with her guidance through yoga and meditation proves there are still those who do good. She is a calm, confident, and caring person who I believe will make changes in the way people are viewed as broken.
