Nothing could be farther from the truth. To be a great yoga teacher, you must be committed to making positive changes in your life.
2. This time, we dance. Let’s learn the moves. Energy Anatomy and Setting your Spirit Free. Having the Anatomy of the Posture and getting into the more fun arena of Anatomy of Energy. There is no doubt about it, working safety is important. However, once we have the physical basics, adjustments and modifications of each posture are understood, there is a natural desire in each of us to unlock our spirit.
To take yoga off the mat and lead a life of radiant health, wealth and peace of mind. We each receive signals at the physical level, and modern day science is now proving what ancient religions have always known. It is our energy anatomy that sets us free! This symbolic dance reconnects us to creative then, we can naturally let go of the reason why things happen as they do and empower our sacred side. We discover our inner radiance and that truth sets us free!
3. Developing the Tools to Overcome Daily Stress. Stress affects physical health and clouds our mind. Reducing stress, builds clarity and inspiration. Being able to center yourself and calm the mind is sometimes all that is needed to rise above challenges.
4. Creating genuine friendship, support and connections to honor and reinforce this everlasting and fiery transformational spirit.
5. Flexible Spine is a flexible mind. Rekindling the magic and connection to spirit allows for greater flexibility of mind. A flexible spine equals a flexible mind. Change does come knocking on the door and comes frequently, but we must first turn the handle. How we handle change, is how we embrace life. Successful CEO’s and longer term business planning requires being open to change.
6. Yoga honors our direct life and unique experience. In yoga, we stop looking outside. We stop judging and criticizing our faults and begin to look inside. We understand everyone is in some way flawed. The journey to honor our whole self is the first step toward transformation. We will receive glimpses of insight. We accept that life is hard. We begin asking more of our higher power. This is the foundation for a happy, harmonious, and confident life no matter where in the world you may be.
7. Yoga works with the whole system. Whether we are seeking greater practice to build one’s mental focus, enhance greater spiritual calm, or strengthen inner character traits,like patience, yoga works! Learning yoga, gives us permission to care for the whole mind, body and spirit.
8. Develop good karma. Acquiring greater inner love, adaptability and patience will build confidence and sharing from this place, will bring about more good things. Let peace begin and let it begin with me. Yoga motivates us to start where we are. Even if it’s in the midst of chaos and struggle.
9. Better Sleep. Learning now to breathe has many magical benefits. One is learning how to release the stress of the day before falling asleep. When we breath from the belly, we ignite the diaphragmatic breath. This helps release stress and rid the mind of any unease. If you wake up in the middle of the night, and have difficulty falling back to sleep, try the deep belly breathing.
10. Meet Yourself. Don’t find yourself. Sonia Choquette tells us that our spirit wants to be curious, find vitality and have in general more wonder. We have become a culture that is addicted to looking outside, seeking and searching. Many of us feel deep down we are broken. Our spirit expresses itself through creativity, vitality and wonder. Through self-discovery, we know we are already whole.

After only three classroom days, I was thrilled to hear Michelle say it would take about six years to become accomplished as a Yoga teacher. While we learn the basics, we must strive to always improve and gain knowledge in all areas. I foolishly thought I had to be a pro to do this training, it’s only the beginning.
I love that the practice of yoga focuses on the whole Self:: mind, body, spirit… Everything truly is connected.
#6 speaks to me the most in my current yoga teacher training. I have finally learned to look inside myself for the answers. I now know they are all there waiting to be discovered. Only half way through the course and I feel like I have learned so much. I can’t wait to see what the next two weekends bring!
