Renee Sarkaras signed up for our yoga teacher training last fall and will receive her certificate this month. Read more in the blogpost about how yoga empowered Renee to keep going!
“If you would have told the old me that I would be leading this healthy lifestyle and pursuing my yoga teacher training certification, I wouldn’t have believed it. I was insecure and lived without passion for anything that truly mattered. I didn’t have an awareness of my emotional and physical health. I went through the motions of life and although I was young, I was unhealthy and uninformed.
When I found yoga, it significantly changed my life in so many ways. I knew immediately that it was more than just an exercise or a way to be healthy. Yoga helped me realize so much about myself. It helped me realize that I am strong and patient, that I can overcome pain and heartache.
Yoga helped me get through a really dark time in my life in a healthy and positive way. It taught me to be confident, but humble. It taught me to be okay with failure and to keep trying when I do fail. It helped me become secure within my own body and my own personality.
Yoga also introduced me to this community of people who were nonjudgmental and so supportive of my practice. I stopped caring what other people thought about me and started caring about myself and then started actually being myself and being true to what I wanted from life. I believe strongly that yoga helped me discover myself and find a way to live the life that I was meant to live.
I believe that there is so much to gain from finding your passion and being able to share that with others. As a yoga instructor, I want to help others find peace and happiness within their life and I want to help them to find comfort within their practice and within their bodies. I want them to be confident and secure with exploring yoga and exploring the benefits that it can bring to them. I want them to see the fun that can be had with yoga and that the struggle is just as enjoyable as the success.
As a yoga teacher, I will share my passion with the community and open up the world of yoga to many other people. My goal is to introduce yoga to people who don’t really know about it or understand all of the benefits that it can bring. I plan to educate my students about yoga, to help them learn more than just the asanas, but the breathing, the meditation, the spirituality of it, the benefits, and the history. I know that not everyone will have the same passion for yoga that I do, but I want to help them find what they are passionate about and how yoga can help them reach their dreams and accomplish their goals.
I will share my experiences with how yoga and healthy eating changed both my physical and mental state. I will help each individual student find how the experience and practice of yoga can fit into their daily lives and how it can help provide focus, peace and happiness”
