The qualities I like most about being a yoga teacher is the incredible support I can offer through yoga. I like helping people get out of there everyday routine. I like to focus on building their yoga postures in the yoga room, encouraging them to take a break from their office and clear their mind. I find after yoga class, students go back more focused and ready for the rest for the work day. With a strong regular practice of yoga, students also benefit from good, clean, healthy living.
I enjoy teaching period. I like helping others. I enjoy being on the mat and giving the students a visual aid. At times, it’s good to walk around and offer a physical adjustment or two. I love most of all continuing to grow and learn myself. I completed prenatal workshop certification course one year ago. The most inspiring things about my students is the variety of people with different backgrounds. Maybe there coming to yoga for depression or something completely different like learning sacred movement. Reaching a diverse audience in the same class offering wonderful benefits that is exciting to me.
A key to my success, I believe, is that the timing was right while taking the yoga teacher training. I was a beginner with yoga at the time, very open minded about trying out a new career with yoga teaching. Sustainability for me grew over the long haul, giving myself permission to start small. After time, then my practice blossomed. I recommend teaching at first with family and friends and to be comfortable first, before going out into the business world.
Another important insight that I gained from the training and from teaching afterwards, is learning to have an open heart and listen to others without filters. While in the yoga training course, everyone really fed off each other. Each person came from literally a different part of the United States. I enjoyed so much how different everyone from the training really was!
As for self-care, I usually just love relaxing, like going for walk, listening to music, doing very little. To me this is the best way to sometimes spend the day, rest and renew. In the near future, more corporate classes and workshop opportunities. I learned so much from the others in the teacher training group.

Alyssa brings up the point that we can start small and then go on to make a full-time career out of teaching yoga. This is a marvelous attitude, and it gives us the confidence we need to begin and carry through to where we would like to be. She is telling us that, regardless of who we are or where we are from, we can achieve our goals. We all need this type of encouragement
