As the owner and founder of Clayton Yoga and Clayton Yoga International, I am very proud of our Clayton Yoga teaching staff. Did you know that for more than ten years, Clayton Yoga has offered teaching opportunities to its own yoga teacher training graduates?Clayton Yoga Teacher Training began in June 2003 with the request of one corporate yoga student, Becky Elrod.
Standing outside the wellness yoga studio, on a hot summer day, finishing up a yoga class, Becky Elrod came right up after class, and asked when would we train her to teach this kind of yoga?
Since that inception, we have offered worldwide yoga trainings 3 times in Grenada, West Indies, and over 50 times in St. Louis, MO. We have trained over 650 well qualified yoga instructors and offered more than 10,000 corporate and community yoga classes. Today we have a private membership site only for yoga teacher training students and plan to offer our yoga training in beautiful locations like Mexico, and Costa Rica too!
In the early days, I knew in my heart of hearts, I had something valuable to share because of the style of yoga I had been taught.
Vinyasa Yoga is the style of yoga which combines breathing with movement and honors every individual to become empowered. Other yoga styles to me always felt very rigid and dogmatic. Like the secret was just one step away and you weren’t going to get it!
In our yoga training school, we believe wholeheartedly in sharing the most valuable tools and relevant material at the onset.More than technique or having a ton of knowledge, being truly inspired by something greater, moves the vibrational energy higher and helps us all to take those everyday small leaps of faith.
Our style of yoga is the fastest growing style, called Vinyasa Yoga, because I believe it supports all levels, differences and abilities to find their own inner magnificence. We are all born with in- credible potential, energy and spirit. The central theme of yoga is to unite with this higher force and be the best version we can be. We all have a rich, inner landscape, a sacred heroic journey, and an upward staircase in which to walk.
Why not be our own personal best and leave the rest?
Many of our Clayton Yoga Graduates meet our selection process and go on to teach for Clayton Yoga after graduating. Currently Clayton Yoga offers 11 corporate yoga weekly classes throughout St. Louis and 7 weekly yoga classes at Clayton Yoga Studio. Yoga teachers with Clayton Yoga then get an opportunity to be a guest presenter or yoga teacher trainer for other yoga teachers in this same course.
Follow your intuition and if you are a little nervous, that is an excellent sign you just want to be better. If you have the motivation, dedication and desire, why not take the time you deserve to develop mastery and individual success too!
Did you know we have two upcoming yoga teacher trainings to choose from? Our next 15 day Intensive Course begins July 23rd-August 6th, 2016 or the 3 Month Course beginning September 16th-18th, 2016. Would you like to join us? For more details and information about our Clayton Yoga Teacher Trainings, contact Michelle Maue at 314-630-1677.
I am thrilled to be part of the September 2016 Teacher Training! For anyone considering certification, I highly recommend joining! You will get access to the online website that has so much valuable information. It truly is an amazing resource to have and learn from! I am amazed at the amount of content I have access to. Thank you Becky Elrod for starting the wave that created the teacher training classes!
I agree with Michelle that sharing our unique strengths and different skill-sets as yoga teachers will help the studio grow as a whole. Clayton Yoga seems like a wonderful and inviting place to work.
